DAVAO CITY, Sept. 8 (PIA) - The City’s top cop assured that the campaign against all forms of illegal gambling continues despite the pandemic. He said the campaign goes relentless even on holding illegal cock derbies which causes mass gathering of residents.

Police Colonel Kirby John Kraft, director of the Davao City Police Office recalled that the first cases of COVID-19 were due to the derby at the Matina Gallera.

“It shows that they are not performing as station commanders in their respective areas he said.

Kraft emphasized that the Social Amelioration Program is an assistance given by government to ease the impact of the pandemic to the ordinary people’s way of life.

He said residents must use the assistance properly in buying for their daily needs, and not on gambling activities.

Kraft lauded the station commander of San Pedro Street and other stations which are performing their duty against illegal gambling.

He warned that the police will continue its campaign against illegal gambling especially now that COVID-19 cases are still rising.
